Atlas Shrugged Part II

Post by MachineGhost »

The global economy is on the brink of collapse. Unemployment has risen to 24%. Gas is now $42 per gallon. Brilliant creators, from artists to industrialists, continue to mysteriously disappear at the hands of the unknown.

Dagny Taggart, Vice President in Charge of Operations for Taggart Transcontinental, has discovered what may very well be the answer to a mounting energy crisis — found abandoned among the ruins of a once productive factory, a revolutionary motor that could seemingly power the World.

But, the motor is dead… there is no one left to decipher its secret … and, someone is watching.

It’s a race against the clock to find the inventor before the motor of the World is stopped for good.

Who is John Galt?

I don't watch comic book movies.

For real though, the first one got horrible ratings... has anyone seen it?

i saw it before i had read the book, i gave it a good rating mostly for the subject matter. it was not bad for a out of the mainstream production, producing a movie based on a book with a awkward and unconventional writing style..  i am looking forward to seeing part 2
if nothing else part one got me to read the book,
-Government 2020+ - a BANANA REPUBLIC - if you can keep it

-Belief is the death of intelligence. As soon as one believes a doctrine of any sort, or assumes certitude, one stops thinking about that aspect of existence

I am reminded of the most recent Jack in the Box Commercial, wherein his "SO" spells out "NONOOKIE" in response to his nonsensical word play.

That is the way Ayn Rand worked with disagreement. Alan Greenspan himself was "denied" when he wanted something special from her, after a disagreement. She would cut off her disagreeable patrons.

I am sure it will be on Netflix very soon, and I can skip and fast forward past the boring parts. In that light it should last about 20 minutes at best/worst.

However there are a lot of really good Canadian actors in that production... I like Canadians, don't you? ;)

Battlestar people, etc.

It needs to be said the quality and casting looks a heck of a lot better than Part 1.  I'm kind of amazed how Part 2 looks to be such a huge improvement when Part 1 was such a disaster.

Part 1 reminded me of the new Dallas series a bit.

Pretty people with looks of great concern on their faces.

+1.  That's what I thought, too.

We saw it in the theater, just because I believe in supporting films that don't cater to the liberal bias in Hollywood.

we did the same, supporting an alternative to the "normal bias" was worth the price of a ticket, we will probably do the same for part 2. i generally avoid seeing movies in theaters but its worth making an exception every now and then...
