Book going to printer...Like it on Amazon, please...

Above is one of many cartoons we feature in the new book to make a point about the investing industry….

The book was sent to the printer last week. We are a little over a month out now for the release. If you haven't had a chance yet, please consider going to the Amazon page and "Liking" the book. You don't need to order the book to like it. The button for this should be at the top of the page once you log in.

Also, consider adding some tags or confirming the tags that are there if you agree with them. Here is the Amazon link:

The Permanent Portfolio Book

We are excited about the release and appreciate your support! Thanks!

I'm not sure it matters much, but I have a Facebook page for the book as well:

Big thing for us is to put out a good book that has a lot of useful information in it that people can execute upon. When it goes to print, we are just hoping readers give it good reviews on Amazon and that it helps them out to get their money life in order at least on the investing side.

Should be about the same time. You can't pre-order. It's apparently an Amazon issue.

I liked it on amazon.  Question though, why is it already showing a list price of $45 but then drops so much for the sale price? Would anyone normally pay list for the book? (I realise you wouldn't mind if I paid list for the book, I just don't understand the large price difference between sale and list. )

That's just what Amazon does.

That's right.

We have no input on any of that stuff.

I 'liked' it. Do you know what the ISBN number will be?

Is it not on the Amazon listing?

If it's not there, check out the Wiley website.

Any book tours occurring?  Would love to get my copy signed.

I sent the publisher a list of my book tour requirements.

No green M&Ms, a fridge full of Red Bull, and surf and turf every evening.

I'm waiting to hear back from them.

Done, and added to my wish list.  I'm looking forward to reading and recommending it. Good Luck.

What can someone do with that number?
It universally uniquely identifies that printing of the book, and there are services which can take somebody from that number to all other editions/printings.  It can be easier to search for that number: whatever library or bookstore interface you're using, you can always search by ISBN and know that you'll get exactly what you're looking for.  The possibility for error is reduced by 90% because the last digit of the ISBN is a mod 10 checkdigit.  (The old 10-digit scheme, with which the current 13-digit scheme is backwards-compatible, used a mod 11 checkdigit, which is why you'll see some of them ending in "X".)

More on the backend side of things, the number is of course invaluable to providing any number of services.
