The gmail spam filter correctly identified this message as spam but I thought it was very interesting because it mimics a notification message from this forum. And the link actually goes to the forum topic as advertised. The content however, is obviously spam.

That was an actual spammer on the forum but we killed the account and posts. But yes they are getting very creative. One spambot now quotes legitimate messages and posts it as its own to slip unnoticed for a while. The spam links are in the signature. If I see a user register with a link in their signature there is a very high chance they are a spammer. We do run real time black lists though to keep most of them away.
