Tracking performance of a basic 4x25% vs PRPFX

Post by annieB »

Is there a way to track the daily and todate performance.
I'd like to compare them as to return, drawdown, etc.
Please excuse all the questions but I have searched and
this is just too cool.

I think there are a lot of ways to do it.

The simple way that I've used is to create a portfolio in Google Finance consisting of GLD, SHY, TLT, and VTI.  I made the total about $100k, and divided that among the four.  That will track the returns of that portfolio; you can use the compare feature to graph PRPFX against it.

For my specific little portfolio, I started it on Feb 17.  Since then, the PP has done -.73%, PRPFX is -2.12%.  I have a spreadsheet in Google Docs that tracks my actual portfolio, and it is +0.58% since Feb 19 when I started moving into the PP.

I'm working on setting up my PP spreadsheet to make it user-friendly and hopefully be able to share it with others here on the board.  I'll post it when I'm feeling that it's intuitive to use and manipulate.
