I guess the word is out. The title is incorrect though and will get updated by the publisher. But I think pre-ordering is still possible.

Is the correct title, "The Permanent Portfolio: Harry Browne’s Long-Term Investment Strategy"?

That would be it. I'll post more about it once the systems get the titles all straightened out for pre-orders.

Hah! Is that why I didn't receive an e-mail notifying me about the book? I'm pretty sure I put myself on the notify list.

Yes, that's me.

I am the author of many Tom Clancy-ish books who is making a foray into the world of investing.

Just kidding.

There is some incorrect information in that listing.  The authors should be listed as "Craig Rowland and M. Tex".

I just hope you embedded lots of juicy pp references in those novels, or at least the one in which the hero dispatches the bad guy with a carpet steamer.
Clicking on Craig's name-as-link on that Amazon page also generates some nice titles. What a couple of well-rounded young gentlemen.

Congratulations!  Very exciting to see the book already leaving its little digital footprints around the web even before birth.

It's too bad because "How to Build a Bombproof Permanent Portfolio" is a title that cannot be improved upon.  Now that I've thought of my portfolio as "bombproof", there's no going back to wimpy adjectives like "defensive" or "diversified".  I like to picture my Permanent Portfolio taking a direct hit from a nuclear warhead and giving off nothing but a warm, peaceful glow as it protects my now-irradiated-but-still-mostly-intact nest egg.

MT,

Where did you come up with the pseudonym "Medium Tex"?  Whenever I am on this forum, I envision you riding a horse on the plains of Texas complete with cowboy hat and six shooter on your side.  Also, the campfire scene from Blazing Saddles comes to mind. ;D

Congtrats to you and Craig on the book deal.  I wish you both much success.

I went by "BigTex" on another forum and decided to start fresh with a new identity and lower profile.

I'm not sure I succeeded in maintaining a lower profile.

As so often happens with these things, I put about two minutes of thought into it.  If I had known it would stick, I might have done something more exciting like:

I think BrowneOut would be a great sniglet for a temporary lack of faith in the pp, something we all experience from time to time. Or most of us, I suspect. "The yield on the 30-Year can't possibly go lower. I'm having a Browne Out!"

I'm just old enough to remember sniglets.

I like the title they put up.  It's eye catching and it will appeal to those who are looking to protect their investments.  Remember marketing is everything.  Just ask the expert.

Any chance you can persuade the publisher to create a kindle version? I would love to have it on my kindle (well kindle app on my tablet).

As I understand, a kindle version will be available.

While I like the "Bombproof" part, that would have been the subtitle, and the title would have been "Inside the Investment Bunker", which doesn't necessarily convey the all-weather nature of the PP.  In other words, the PP is not just for when bombs are falling.

Part of my goal with spreading the PP word has been to lay as many breadcrumb trails as possible for those who are looking around for something like the PP.  While I like "Inside the Investment Bunker", for someone looking for the permanent portfolio, it might not jump out at them the way something with a less exciting (but more informative) title would.

I liked both titles.  Trying to figure out the right way to go with these things is hard.

One of the things I was very happy about is that we were able to convince the publisher to have a photo of me and Craig on the cover of the book in a "Hans and Franz" pose.  I felt that this was very important and I was glad that we were able to make the publisher see things our way.

I think this is a great title as it will get found if people are searching using these words. Does what it says on the tin.
