Silver bullion funds / trusts

Post by murphy_p_t »

I'm curious...what vehicles do you use for owning silver bullion, that can be bought within IRA?

I don't like the SLV etf, mainly due to the parties involved (JP Morgan, etc) who likely are heavily involved in shorting the silver market.

I do like Sprott fund, but the premium to NAV is too high, in my view. Recently, NAV came way down after Sprott expanded the offering.

Sprott seems to have timed this well, however...silver looks to be back on a tear, up 20+%  in Jan.

Central Fund's silver trust has similar (although not as great) premium to NAV.

Have you found a better silver bullion trust / ETF which avoids these concerns?

Check out the list here.

Disclaimer: I don't do silver.  It's too volatile and there are far too many unpredictable variables that can drastically affect its price.  But if you think you got a winner, go for it.
