The introduction to the interview discusses royalties from his books ($750,000 for the paperback rights to You Can Profit from a Monetary Crisis) his consulting fees ($2,500 for a four-hour session), and his $15,000 charge for an all-day course. The intro also includes some obligatory biography, etc.
From an investment standpoint the interview focuses on gold, silver, and "strong foreign currencies" like the Swiss Franc. It ranges into topics covered in his "Rule Your World" audio series (I'm about 2/3rds through the audio series), and you can actually "hear" Harry in the interview, based on word use, phrasing, etc. The discussion ranges into Harry's views on government and on China's economy (circa 1975).
Not a lot of Permanent Portfolio here, but interesting none the less.
From a purely historic standpoint the ads in the magazine are hilarious (lots of cigarette ads, very bad hair, even worse fashions).
One full-page advertisement is headlined "Retire Before Fifty" and discusses how one can accomplish this through a carpet cleaning franchise. I assume this is where MediumTex got the idea for his side business
