Thanks, man. i discovered a few spices I can smell. Better than zero. Hope! O0

If Medium Tex were around here, I’d point him to this excellent piece on Nick Offerman.

Before we bought this place, I told (Megan Mullally) I wanted to build her a craftsman lodge and said, “I’ll split firewood and bring home fresh game.” She said, “No thanks, buddy.”

What Size TV Do You Guys Have?

Post by Smith1776 »

I just ordered an 85" TCL from Best Buy during this recent sale. Looks like I picked up one of the last ones in my area before they sold out.

What size TV are you guys rocking at home? Was it a good purchase?

17 Years!!!! My kind of electronics item! I expect them to go forever and always disappointed when they do not.

A few years ago a friend gave me a 55" that was around 15 years old. Good enough for me since about the only time it is on is when I'm exercising in the room.

Otherwise, my main TV is a 32" which is an arm's length away as I sit here typing this.

You can't really tell the scale from the picture, but this is a hilariously big TV. O0

(I guess the Mac Mini and game consoles are okay scale comparisons for those of you who have them.)

Unless your light switch is a meter square, that is a very large TV.

That actually might be my next foray... There is a big empty wall in our bedroom upstairs that might make for a good projector space.

It's been a year or so of great returns for sure.

My Bitcoin position is much more conservative than it was, but it's still very significant. It's now in a proper variable portfolio consisting of:

33% Bitcoin
33% MicroStrategy stock
33% Cash

Rebalance regularly to harvest gains and take advantage of dips. With the cash component this risk profile is much more tolerable.

Based on Smither’s purchase and the subsequent comments, I purchased an outdoor drive in movie theater complete with screen, projection booth, snack bar and a couple hundred of those pole stands with speakers on them. Now I have to figure out how to move it to my backyard (I don’t think it’s going to fit in my car). 🤓😉😳😇

Hey, hope you are doing well. Indeed, EUR is coming to BG beginning of 2026. While I mostly feel this is a natural process of being substantial part of Europe (not only geographically), the process of adoption is far from flawless. By that I mean not the procedural stuff per-se, but all the supporting bad practices. Many businesses induced inflation out of nothing, sometimes increasing prices without any valid reason (or valid from customer standpoint, if there's such thing at all...). Moreover, due to the (expected) more strictly monitored money flows, quite some dirty money are now being desperately attempted to be washed, which itself induce even higher prices. You can imagine property prices skyrockething, as well. But it is what it is.
Btw, I found a new hobby (lockpicking), which I try to enjoy as much as I can in my spare time, really passionate about it right now ;D
Cheers!

PS. Still in PP though, going well, no complains, guess the losses in bonds will not vanish overnight (if at all ;) ).

I'd say I'm around 50/50 between my variable portfolio and safer portfolio at the moment.

Crucially, I do not rebalance between the portfolios. I only rebalance them internally.

It's still a fairly risky position overall, but it's waaay more tempered than it was lol!

I am working on my laptop from a coffee shop today with the missus.

We often do this as part of our weekend routine. It's a nice way changing our scenery, being together, while also getting work done. Tasty coffee definitely helps. Sometimes we even bring a chess set to play with on our breaks.

I was going to do some yard work today, but we ended up getting a surprise rain storm (welcome to Alberta) that kind of spoiled those plans.

Whatcha guys up to today?
