What’s going on in the UK?

Post by dualstow »

Every day I see news about people getting arrested for social media posts, but Muslim immigrants given a pass for assembling and shouting about how they want Sharia law in their new home country.

Is this right wing propaganda or is it real?
I can’t tell, because I don’t know what news sources are reliable in the UK anymore.
Is there really a de facto two-tiered justice system?

Hence memes like this. And I’m not a big fan of memes, but this one gets right to the point.

Don't have an answer. Maybe find a friend or a friend of a friend in the UK you could ask?

Then again, if erosion of civil liberties is of interest, you can find plenty of it right here at home (U.S. that is). Erosion of rule of law is hot this season too.

I asked someone who is there. Will pass on response here if I get one.

Above Vinny’s post should be glennds’s post.

This is Glenn’s full post. I went to quote it and it got zapped.

It's a case of WOKE. Say anything that offends even one individual and a barrage/prosecution might follow. Comedians are no longer funny, too restricted to not offending anyone. The Police and Judges are wary about being seen to be racists/offensive against minorities. Where that 'liberalism' is also dominant in schools, so a nursery child that asks "why is that boy wearing a dress" is expelled after having called the parents in to be chastised, and where uncertain of their sexuality children are being put forward for gender change.

Massive state monitoring/control - where everyone is expected to live by standards/beliefs as defined by a faceless few, cameras everywhere, your thoughts (internet activities) recorded, where all your money comes in from, is kept, spent is reported to the state. Where increasingly innocent until proven otherwise has been overturned, keep a stack of cash at home and/or gold, and a police raid discovering that will see it being seized, split between the treasury and police on the assumption of being proceeds of illegal activities - unless you can prove otherwise. Banks are under remit to Know Your Customer and Anti-Money-Laundering controls, or otherwise risk losing their licence, so report all financial transactions to the state for clearance/approval (as a means for the state to gain insight to all transactions).

A political system where anyone can become a Member of Parliament, no restriction of having been born in the UK, and where the majority poor get to dominate who gets elected. Muslims may have their votes defined by their Imam, women submitting their vote to their husband, so vote concentration and with first past the post, many alternatives - that edge can secure election compared to the more split oppositions.

In Israel they complain how large migration and out-breeding by Jews relegated Palestinians - who want to reverse that by exterminating the Jews, in the UK they strive to out migrate/breed former Christian majorities in order to seize control. Cake and eat it, where more often the throwing of 'racist' accusations are made by the more racist (non indigenous).

Multiculturalism is assumed to be the fixed standard. Yet migration has led to pockets where in some towns/cities many don't even speak English. Little China, Little India, Muslim areas that are no-go for others ...etc. divisions - that is more inclined to lead to upset. Former migrants, 1950's-1980's saw more integration, common acceptance, other than skin colour wore the same clothes, lived in similar ways. Now and visual differences predominate - is in vogue to look/be different, a minority and strong accusations/reprisals against any critique.

Kids in schools no longer play sports, in case they get hurt and the school sued. So sports day prior to the summer recess is largely all the kids sitting down and one by one standing up to kick a ball into a empty net before sitting back down again - or suchlike. Most kids are overweight, diabetics in the making.

But that's they way it all should be - according to the faceless few that define that to be so.

The BBC used to be the main independent provider of impartial news/entertainment, all funded by taxpayers to better ensure that impartiality. Then after a period of only burn your bra females need apply for jobs within the BBC has transitioned it to being a considerably biased entity.

More recently diversity and inclusion is a broad/common dominant office within businesses, sways who might be considered or rejected as job applicants.

Somewhat entertaining is how when males who otherwise would have low levels of achievement in a sport can instead opt to define and compete as a woman. Or where a rapist might define as a woman in order to be locked into a female prison system. Politics have moved so far to the left that former centralists are now considered as being far-right extremists.

Shocking. Have you given any thought to emigrating somewhere? I know it’s not that simple.

Until recent I couldn't, sole (very long term) carer for my mother who recently passed away. Now I'm free to travel more so inclined to become more nomadic. Tempted to do the couple of years of travelling between 5 star hotels in low cost places, $50/night type cost with a couple/few months in each - which might define a eventual settlement place.
