I'm Officially A Bitcoin Maximalist

Post by Smith1776 »

Hey all.

So, at least for now, my investment journey has come full circle. I'm officially a Bitcoin Maximalist (Maxi). I've gone down a rabbit hole starting about a year ago till now.

I will likely be switching back to more of a PP or risk parity type of investment approach once I've finished accumulation, but for now it's risk on. Maybe it's a mistake, maybe it's not. But my current portfolio is as follows:

20% Cash
40% MicroStrategy
40% Bitcoin

Feel free to fire away with criticisms if you feel you must. At least I can take pride in being honest.

Lots of Adderall for that test? srs q. wait a week :)

US is stronger than ever as of yesterday and best case for crypto would be collapse/civil war where people need to trade crypto between states.

Bitcoin and gold should do well tho because Gov is going to pay for everything with inflation and most people blindly throw money into stocks

But what do I know, loaded up on 4% yield EDV July 2023. Props to those here who caught 5%

This is speculation, not investing. Have you read Hijacking Bitcoin?

If you expect a large return from Bitcoin, you don't have to commit so much of your wealth to the wager:

The 50/50 outcomes in this case are 50% your speculation goes to 0, 50% you get the payoff indicated.

PS I’ll trade you: my Bitcoin for an ounce of your gold.

Yeah, I'm still all for highly diversified investing, but I think that type of portfolio is best for the decumulation stage of one's investing lifetime. I'm just not quite there yet. For now it's pedal to the metal. O0

I'm assuming that some part of you created this thread as a cry for help, so I'll continue w/ the criticism. I also can relate to falling down the Bitcoin rabbit hole / psyop. I do respect your honesty.

My buy price for MSTR: $252 USD
My buy price for Bitcoin: $67k USD

I am currently up ~$95k CAD on my principle after just a few weeks in this position.

Dude. What are you doing? You bought a house, that’s cool. All you need to do is buy a stock index and you’ll be set for life. And just contribute some of your salary regularly.

I don’t want to read about you having to mortgage your home.

I’ll say no more because Greg here had 4% of his investments in Tesla, and probably would’ve kept the shares if I had kept my trap shut 😂 / 😭

Peter Schiff, a longtime bitcoin hater, ironically provides one of the most succinct explanations of the MicroStrategy investment thesis.

Last cycle we saw a 75% drawdown. Are you going to try to avoid the next one in some way or just HODL through it all?

I’m planning to HODL the entire position till I reach my retirement number. After that I’ll switch back to a more risk parity or PP-esque strategy.
