Did she get into tea at all?
She LOVES tea. Actually, we went to this museum in HK.

https://www.discoverhongkong.com/anz/in ... -ware.html

It's super cool, and they have these displays showing the intricacies and history of tea making.

We left with a package of this stuff: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pu%27er_tea

Really cool!
Oh, that’s the kind of tea that makes you go to the bathroom. Good stuff!
I’ll have to visit the museum one day.

Going to Hong Kong and all of these destinations is really a bucket list type of thing, but honestly, neither me or the missus intends on going back if we don't have to (dad's estate stuff).

It's a great city to visit. However, everything is expensive, it's crowded, there are cockroaches, it's oppressively hot and humid.

The random mangoes we got at the supermarket were the best we've ever had in our lives though. And of course egg tarts. lol!

I have never ever lived anywhere where there were any.

However, I was the Treasurer of a natural foods coop that had plenty of them. If you went into the store after it had closed they basically covered the floor.

Store management bought a gecko something to live there that supposedly ate them. But they assassinated the gecko!

Poor gecko O0 Didn’t know they could do that. And remind me not to get food from that coop, ever.
The ones in Asian cities are quite large. I had never seen anything like them when I first arrived.

We lived in the Houston, TX area quite a few years ago. I remember "water bugs" that were somewhat like roaches except they were about 2 inches long. Creepy!

Those are the ones, M. People call them “waterbugs” so as not to freak anyone out, but I believe they are roaches.

I just ate delicious French toast and they're mad they didn't get any.

Seriously though, I'm reading up on it. The first thing I thought of was Ray Dalio's writings about social unrest and the development of animosity between "them" and "us".

Ok, the UK unrest aside, I happened to jot down the recipe for french toast this morning. O0
Really just needed the measurements/proportions.

I made some paejon the other night. Ever eat those, Smithers?

That's one of my favorite dishes! There's a place down the street from our house that specializes in making those things. I find that they pair really well with Lao Gan Ma hot sauce. Mmmmm.

I noticed that the selloff in Japanese stocks has been particularly pronounced lately. Supposedly it's an unwinding of the famous carry trade?

My wife is crazy for that sauce, but I call it Da Gang Ya, which is the Chinese name for Jaws- not the shark but the metal-toothed guy played by Richard Kiel in 007 movies. Da Gang Ya = big steel teeth. (ok, on the off chance that she visits this site, she’ll know it’s me).

I own the Franklin Japanese etf. Booooo

Dual, I feel you are trying to steal the show, or maybe just seal the deal with a show of steel.

Had to look up that sauce: https://thewoksoflife.com/lao-gan-ma-chili-sauce/
Looks like there are several varieties. Which do you and Smithers prefer?

I can’t eat it O0 Wife loves it. I guess I’ve eaten it when she mixes it with cucumber pieces, but it’s hot.
I’ll ask her what kind.

First one. I guess they’re all full of chili sauce.

Wife said this woman on the label has an interesting story. Abused by her husband, ran away. Sold noodles for a while. Invented a sauce to go with it (and also when she ran out of noodles or something?) People started asking for just the sauce. Eventually, she set up factories. O0

A minicomputer "usually took up one or a few 19-inch rack cabinets".

Thanks Smithy, that was interesting.
On the theme of old interviews, here are the typewritten notes from a Ben Graham lecture back in 1963

Looks like Intel is sinking again today, Smithers.
I was going to put this in the VP subsection but…one share. O0
