I'm watching all kinds of great movies made in eastern Europe that I never knew about!

This movie, Silver Skates, was in particular a real gem. It's a classic poor boy and rich girl love story with lots of interesting drama. Highly recommended.

Does it have English subtitles? I always want subtitles even if an American movie.

It’s really quite good. Highly recommended. It even had Ukrainian subtitles for the missus!

What really strikes me when reading it is how ingrained baseball is. The article can assume that everybody knows what an on-deck circle is, what it means to play second base or short, etc. Oh also about how some two dozen members of Congress were nearly killed one morning. Apparently they would have been if Scalise hadn't been there, since he had his own security detail. (Something I had forgotten)

In our softball league we have our own set of rules on top of the official softball rulebook.

I think I am the only coach in the league who actually reads our rules. This belief gets reinforced when we get to the post season and the other coaches don't know the most basic of rules, e.g., in coed softball (for our league) if a male is walked ahead of a female batter if there are two outs in any inning the female can elect to either hit or also take a walk. In all coed softball the male batter automatically goes to second base at all times if walked ahead of a female. All a disincentive to walk the male to get to pitch to the female.

We've had several rule changes in the league over the decades and none of the other coaches / players seem to know the current rule that has now been in place for years. Plus, many of us also play in other leagues which have different rules regarding this so they get confused as what exactly is our rule for this particular league.

But I also attribute it to our society being basically a non-reading society.

I was the impetus for all these new non-binary rules last year as I was potentially having one on my roster and I told the Recreation Department our current rules were not covering that possibility.

3. GENDER RATIOS
a) We recognize that people defining as gender non-binary are not defined as either male or female. We recognize
that transgender players can identify anywhere along the gender spectrum. For the purposes of these variations,
we are defining genders as male, female, and non-binary.
b) Each team must play the field with the gender ratios below. Nine players are allowed only if shorthanded:
 Minimum of 3, Maximum of 6 Male Players
 Minimum of 3, Maximum of 6 Female Players
 No Minimum or Maximum required for Non-Binary Players
c) The batting order will be: no two players of the same gender next to each other (male, female, non-binary and so
on) until the minimum gender ratio is met

a) A walk to a male batter when followed by a female batter will result in a two base award. The next batter (a
female) shall bat. Exception: With two outs, the female batter has the option to walk or bat.

It’s just all this woke “gender” stuff drives me crazy at times to think how we got to this point in our lives and in our country. Good Lord, we are either male or female with almost no exceptions. Just take a look in your pants to see what you are.

It drives me crazy too. I personally find any ideology that tries to purport things that are untrue to be basically detestable. Biology matters.

It's also a huge distraction from the real issues our society faces, and it's particularly damaging to young people's psyches.

1. I did not write those rules. The Recreation Department did.
2. I don't think I yet fully understand them.
3. I don't we've yet had a binary player in the league.
4. We are a heavy white area. In my 30+ years in the league there have probably been less than 10 total black players with half of them being on my team. Of the 14 Regular players on my team ... we only have one minority player - Puerto Rican. All the rest of us are white though would an Asian looking female be considered a minority?

I don't think anyone wishes that they thought of themselves as any other way. But that was the way that God made them. Be thankful that you are one of us who has no doubts and, therefore, does not have another set of problems that they have in addition all the usual ones all of us have.

I think I could guarantee you that an extreme high percentage of people who consider themselves "gay" wish that they had born with the same inclinations as you and me.
