Is anyone headed out for sweet boxing day deals? My girlfriend is wanting to score a new laptop for her architecture software.
She has higher processing power/memory needs than I even I do. That's a first in any relationship I've been in!
Is this a Canada thing? Never have heard of it before.
Above provided by: Vinny, who always says: "I only regret that I have but one lap to give to my cats." AND "I'm a more-is-more person."

I've heard of Boxing Day, but only as a British/Canadian thing. We don't do it here.
It's also the second day of Christmas, and the feast day of St Stephen. As the first Christian martyr, with no idea from Scripture when he was killed, he was assigned December 26, the day after Christmas Day, by the church. So this is the day that Good King Wenceslaus looked out, on the feast of Stephen.

I’m sure you’re joking.
Unlike Biden who is constantly inanely saying "No joke!" ..... I had no idea what it was until I went to find this:
Smithers, how did you celebrate? Horse racing or football? Or something you’d rather not share in a public forum?
From USA Today:
“Just like how football has become a part of celebrating Thanksgiving in many American household, Boxing Day has its own sports traditions. Almanac reported that in recent years the sports of choice have been watching horse races and football matches between local rivals.”

Thought I'd check in to say "Hi" and see if anyone else survived the New Year. Hope all is well with everyone. It's been mighty quiet around these parts lately.

Just back from out of town recently and it's been a rather crap winter to be honest
I'll try to post more (and then apologize to Maddy) later this month.
