Re: To The Lurkers
Thanks MT for all your thoughtful comments. Thank you Craig for setting up this site and for all the valuable information. Thank you other contributors for all of your input on this discussion forum (Sounds like an oscar recipients speech). This topic has inspired me to register after following the site for the past year. I would like to post on "How I found the PP" but not sure what topic I should use and will be happy to contribute whatever I can.

(I know it doesn't seem like the right topic, but somehow a bunch of us wound up posting our stories here. If you read the whole thread, you'll see them).
I look forward to hearing it.

I'm afraid we scare too many people away with the smell of our chaps...

Don't change anything! I've been lurking around here for probably over a year, and the intelligence and civility of the forum members have kept me coming back. (Well, that and the nagging question of which ammo to stock for the zombie apocalypse ;) )Odysseusa wrote: We need lighten up a bit so more people can join. We are just too serous in here. ;D

welcome to the forum lurkers...
I have been lurking. I feel like I don’t know enough to contribute too much of value but I do enjoy reading. Thanks to all for sharing your wisdom.

It's been a great learning experience...wish I had something substantial to add but all of this has made me rethink a lot of what I thought I knew...

Re: To The Lurkers
We have some very bright individuals here, that have done considerable study on investing, economics and monetary policy. It can be intimidating for new posters to feel like they have to generate a post on the order of the unifying theorem. I love reading new perspectives, and concerns of individuals that are kicking the tires of the PP. So don't sell your "value" short. Stay here long enough, and a topic will come up where you will be the expert, and we all will benefit. In the meantime, I get a chuckle everytime I see your screen name and avatar.jediclampet wrote: I have been lurking. I bet if all the lurkers joined in, everyone would benefit far more than you suspect. If you don't understand something, then you can be certain that many other people also don't understand it and everyone benefits from working it out in public. If you do understand something then you can be certain that your way of understanding would clarify things for many of the people reading.
Also I think what makes forums friendly, happy, reading material is that they just have people wittering without too much thought. If we all wanted to read considered wisdom we would be reading books or scholarly papers not this stuff. Often other peoples' stream of consciousness wittering actually comes accross as more interesting than considered knowledge would. It often has more truth and value as well IMO.
Some of the stuff I have most liked reading on here seemed nuts to me. I'm really glad people wrote it.
