Inflation
My preferred protein bar has gone from 8 bucks a box to 10.50 a box in just one year.

Re: Inflation
Was expecting Vinny to recommend his peanut butter. But you just never know what he'll do
Re: Inflation
Hold my beer. Here, cheese got from 8-10 EUR to 15-17 EUR for the last year, etc. Sport tuition fees for the various sports my kids are attending got increased by no less than 50% (was kind of 'funny' with the soccer, we got three sequential monthly fees increases). So I think US has still plenty of room for improvement compared to EU. And our oficials have even more to improve on tracking real, not on paper inflation..

Fortunately (for me) peanut butter prices have, for some reason, remained steady during all this massive food price inflation.

I stopped buying bread in 2015 when I adopted a lot of Dr. Furhman's eating prescriptions. No doubt bread is responsible for many pounds on many people?

Sigh. You're right. Scratch that idea.
Maybe I'll get one of those burgers from A&W that has the lettuce wrap in place of the bun.

Every journey begins with a single step.
And as much as I want to be snarky. (You know I do

I'm going to wait a bit. Thumbs up.
Sigh. Who would have thought that Vinnie would be the positive mentor our most promising youths need most?

(Or only eat bread you steal from others?)
We try to stay away from most breads, although Sourdough seems better, as well as some of the heavier European style or Ezekiel breads

Crappy sandwich bread is $3.99 a loaf. That is inflation.

Don't buy any bread or make it. Will eat some when I am eating out.

It could be worse! I’m not sure how, but I’m sure it could be. Maybe sea urchin?

The trick is to dice the organs up nice and fine and then add some fat. Kidney is too lean to eat without fat. Personally, I prefer raw egg yolk, but olive oil is also an option. It doesn’t need much spice. Just some salt and pepper.
I’m currently about a 4 hour drive from the Phoenix area. Tomorrow I’m booked all day, but what say we meet up for lunch sometime after?
Find a carniceria and I’ll go in and grab us a couple of pounds of riñones and make us up each a bowl. It won't take more than a few minutes. Tailgate style out of the back of the MINI. You bring the iced vodka. I think vodka works best with kidney.

I'm traveling myself, but appreciate the offer. I could've invited along some of my nephrologist friends. Do you come through the Phoenix area frequently?Mark Leavy wrote: ↑Tue Jan 17, 2023 8:29 pmI make a mean kidney tartare.Mark Leavy wrote: ↑Tue Jan 17, 2023 4:27 pm Of course I eat offal. Re: Inflation
Thanks for the vocabulary lesson!
Had never seen the word before. Hopefully, never see it again, particularly NOT related to me!
But it seems my vets have been acting in that role by diagnosing what has ended up killing too many of my cats.

C'mon, everybody's heard of Queen Nephrotiti.
Re: Inflation
This is the first time I am ever seeing her name!
Is this who it is?

Who I also have no memory of ever prior seeing?
