Upgrading from Iphone 6s to Iphone 12 - anything to be aware of

Post by joypog »

My office is upgrading my phone tomorrow. I have an old Iphone 6s, which runs fine, but is no longer supported in the latest iOS updates.

Anything I should be aware of when I get my iphone 12?

Is it not part of Apple's business plan to have an aggressive planned obsolesce program?

Their iOS systems seem to have a way shorter life than do Windows operating systems.

Windows 7 came out when? Yet do any programs not run on Windows 7 even though there has been three more operating systems?

What is the oldest iOS system that still works and when did it come out?

Which Apple does not want to create or support for their older operating systems. As I said it seems like their operating systems go obsolete much faster than do Windows operating systems.

Yeah...but that seems to be the case for phone OS's. I don't think Android is that much better. Then again the design is 7 years old (I've had it for 4 years which is decent enough). At this point the performance has slowed to the point where it is due for a replacement.

On the other hand the Mac has held up really well over the years, much better than my windows desktops.

It is the same for Apple iPods and iPads. The unit can still work perfectly but then the app stops working because of the way Apple does their iOS. It is rare for a Windows program to stop working on an older operating system.

I have only used an Android phone and its operating system in terms of obsolesce seems much closer to Windows than Apple.
