I was watching his press conference and had to turn it off. In about 30 seconds he threw out about 5 lies.

You can do it Canada & US. If our premier can have the Anti-Terrorist Police shooting unarmed freedom protestors in the back with riot rounds, I'm sure you can find some wannabe dictator to regain the lead.

Ottawa police have begun arresting protesters.
Btw, apologies for not putting this is in the Politics subforum. It sounds ridiculous but i opted out of that section and forgot that it existed.
I don’t see any posts there by default - have to try to go there if i’m going to see new posts there.

I don't know much about Canadian law but are they charging them with a crime? Can they request a jury trial?dualstow wrote: ↑Fri Feb 18, 2022 2:41 pm Ottawa police have begun arresting protesters.

If someone was blocking traffic in the US I would say arrest them. I don't know if that is what they are doing though.

Good question. Buzzfeed says “various offenses, including mischief.”
NYTimes says “In Alberta, 13 people involved in a border blockade were charged with crimes, including four accused of conspiring to kill police officers.”
I had read earlier that police were swarmed when trying to make arrests, but now they’re being more methodical about it, and they’ve got checkpoints to prevent the protest crowd from growing.

You know my friend Bob Sacamano? He runs a convoy legal service for detainees in downtown Ottawa.
