iPhone Battery

Post by Smith1776 »

Does anyone else's iPhone battery life suck so bad that carrying around a portable power bank every day is a necessity??

My battery health is fine, and my usage honestly doesn't seem that crazy. Even if it was, you'd think one day of usage wasn't too much to ask for. i'd rather have a thicker phone with a bigger battery than dealing with this rigmarole.

10,000mah pack everywhere I go these days. *shrug*

I have a google Pixel, and I charge from 40% to 70% every day or two. Great battery life.

On the other hand .... my 15 year old iPod seems to be able to go (at least) 8 straight hours of playing music.

Yeah, but can you use it to communicate with cell towers? If not, you may as well be talking about a digital clock with the Apple brand slapped on it.

No. But it superbly serves its one function purpose well. Paid $150 for it used in 2007. Still going strong with 10,000+ songs on it (and still room for more). And, most importantly, requires zero ongoing costs for it to do its job.

Didn't the first iPhone come out around 2007? If I or you bought one then ... would it still even be functional today?

Somehow my iPod has survived Apples super aggressive planned obsolescence with all its other products, particularly iPads. Apple is rapacious with how they manage their operating systems and their (in)compatibility with older products.
