I've decided to up the "spiciness" of my VP to extra hot levels with some leveraged ETFs.
What I really like about leveraged ETFs is that they allow the investor to access leverage in a safe way. That is, you can only lose the principal and can't actually go into debt.
I've thrown a chunk of cash equally into two Horizons products. The first tracks the TSX 60 and the other is the S&P 500.

Alas, as a Canadian the Horizons suite of leveraged ETFs are pretty much my only option.InsuranceGuy wrote: ↑Wed Jan 20, 2021 4:50 pm These look to have somewhat low volume. For S&P 500 you might try SPXL for 3x Daily, if you prefer 2x then you can hold 50% SPY/50% SPXL.

I am envious of the economies of scale that U.S. investors enjoy.
