Another perfect phone call
No intimidation attempt here, not at all, right? Nah, just a friendly phone call from the president.

"All I want to do is this. I just want to find 11,780 votes, which is one more than we have, because we won the state."
“You know what they did and you’re not reporting it,” the president said during the call. “You know, that’s a criminal — that’s a criminal offense. And you know, you can’t let that happen. That’s a big risk to you and to Ryan, your lawyer. That’s a big risk.”

Looks like he's got him now. I just heard two charges have been filed against this guy for illegally recording the President. Espionage act. He'll be going to court if not to jail.Cortopassi wrote: ↑Mon Jan 04, 2021 8:15 am No intimidation attempt here, not at all, right? Nah, just a friendly phone call from the president.

That's a good point Doodle. Given the state of our courts........nope. Very slim chance of any justice from the justice dept.doodle wrote: ↑Mon Jan 04, 2021 12:19 pmLol, want to make a bet on that?SomeDude wrote: ↑Mon Jan 04, 2021 12:09 pmLooks like he's got him now. Re: Another perfect phone call
Yet the president, whether illegally recorded or not, is in the clear right? Since it was illegally recorded, never happened right? Maybe in a court, but, oops, too late for that. Out in public. Can't say it never happen, or spin the wording.SomeDude wrote: ↑Mon Jan 04, 2021 12:09 pmLooks like he's got him now. I certainly can understand the guy wanting to record anything discussed with Trump. Then there is no spinning. Just blatant pressure and intimidation on display for anyone.
Re: Another perfect phone call
Georgia, one party consent state as far as I've heard. All the legal details not sure. I'll bet some dude 500 pushups he doesn't go to jail though.
Re: Another perfect phone call
Cort, as I've said a few times, it comes down to a disagreement about a basic premise. That premise is not that some people worship Trump (I sure as heck don't, he's a socialist), and some people have TDS (a well documented condition).Cortopassi wrote: ↑Mon Jan 04, 2021 1:27 pm Yet the president, whether illegally recorded or not, is in the clear right? The premise we disagree on is whether or not there was massive fraud amounting to a criminal gang trying to take over the US government.
I don't care who he pressures or threatens to get to the bottom of the fraud and prevent the criminals and possibly foreigners from assuming power here.
Basic premise that leads to different conclusions about everything.

Re: Another perfect phone call
Well, I guess we'll see the "real" numbers soon...

Re: Another perfect phone call
What type of popcorn did you get? We have Orville Redenbacker Classic Kettle Corn.
I'd prefer double butter but I didn't do the grocery shopping.
Re: Another perfect phone call
I buy the cheapest store brand. I think it is $1.00/pound. Will soon be popping it in my 1980s Hot Air popper. As usual, it will be my first "meal" of the day.

As usual Vinny??????? I hope you're supplementing that meal of popcorn with something more substantial like rice cakes and water!yankees60 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 04, 2021 3:59 pmI buy the cheapest store brand. Yep! We certainly are witnessing that. Fortunately, they don't seem to be having much success.
The premise we disagree on is whether or not there was massive fraud amounting to a criminal gang trying to take over the US government.

I sprinkle nutritional yeast on it.

The popcorn kernels go from the plastic bag they were in into a former pickle jar.
Therefore today's popcorn "meal" came out of the kernels in the former pickle jar.
Something from a jar!

Re: Another perfect phone call
I have a story about nutritional yeast.
My wife and I sprinkle it on our popcorn, too (along with melted butter). So a few months ago, my wife made a bowl of popcorn, drizzled the melted butter, sprinkled the yeast, mixed it all up, and was about to try the popcorn when I heard her yell “Ewwwww! What the hell?!”
Just as she was about to take her first bite, she noticed that the seasoning on the popcorn looked a bit darker than the usual yellow/orange. It was full of brown speckles that were moving. We both looked closely, and they were apparently tiny little bugs even smaller than ants.
So I looked at our container of nutritional yeast, and through the clear plastic I could see massive numbers of those tiny brown speckles moving slowly all through the yeast. I guess it had been in the cupboard a bit too long or something.
There’s probably no point to this story — and certainly not one that relates to the OP — unless it’s possibly a weird metaphor of the 2020 presidential election.
