I live 1/2 hour from Keene, New Hampshire. It's colder and more snow than where I live. Will be even more so in Laconia, since it is ever farther north.

Therefore you need to be able to put up with long, cold, snowy winters to live in either.

After this current heat spell, you are not going to find me outdoors again until March!

Related to this....how many of you presently live somewhere where it is common to regularly see people carrying guns, including long guns?

I have never seen it anywhere and I'm sure the first time I'd have seen it I'd be quite shocked.

Last summer when I was going into a store, I heard one customer say to another customer, "I did not know that Massachusetts was an open carry state." The one with gun, who was clearly not in a good mood, just stated something about being off-duty police.

Cities are democratic. Places where people have college educations are democratic. If you look at Florida for example anywhere you would want to live leans democrat...trust me. Have you ever been out in the boonies in Florida...the places that vote strong conservative? I don't think most of you would feel much at home there.

It would surprise me if Wyoming sees many transplants--except in the Jackson Hole region. The land is not particularly hospitable to those who are not willing to do for themselves. To the extent I've looked into it (for purposes of siting a business), government is much more limited than in any of the adjacent states.
