Leftovers.
I left too much on the bone, but they gave me a crappy knife.

I’ve been on a bit of a pizza kick lately. So naturally I’ve been looking up recipes and such.
Problem is that I don’t see pizza in these pictures anymore.... all I see is 4 asset classes.
Someone help me plz.

Re: Daily "Check In" Thread For Us

I had pizza with some friends last week. It was like an oasis in the social desert.

We were going to get some yesterday but could not just walk in and buy slices like the old days. Thus, ending up at Subway.

Yeah, the friend who picked them up for the rest of us knew to order in advance, but even then it was difficult. And they know us.

So, I hope everyone properly toasts Smith and Tech today for their golden avatars and whatever juju they cooked up.
I bought a chicken and a bottle of "The Federalist". Feels fine.
Thanks Tech.

Re: Daily "Check In" Thread For Us
I guess this thread a bit dormant, but I've been gone for three-is months.
Reason: Nothing exciting, wanted to limit my internet time and getting too wrapped up in the news.
Instead spent non-work time on what I'm calling a mini-retreat; meditation, Yoga, QiGong, a bit of exercise, ...
Limiting FaceCrack as well.
I hope all are well and I haven't missed anything too interesting.
Anything interesting to catch up on?
Of course, what I really want to know: how is Smith1776's dating life?

It's going! I've been going out on dates since you were last here. I haven't felt that "spark" with anyone in particular in the interim, but I've definitely learned to not get so attached on a given outcome for a relationship.
Still no Mrs., but I think I've grown emotionally at least!

Good for you, and love the growth mindset; so important.Smith1776 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 08, 2020 2:37 pmIt's going! I've been going out on dates since you were last here. I'm also working on that non-attachment thing. Sometimes easy, sometimes not so much.
Re: Daily "Check In" Thread For Us
My quality of life also went up a ton when I stopped posting/lurking on the Knuckleheads forum.

Re: Daily "Check In" Thread For Us
Re-emphasizing this because I'm really feeling it today. No more reading asinine chatter in that forum and my "feeling" about my investments and my overall quality of life relating to finances is so much better.

Re: Daily "Check In" Thread For Us
I've just migrated to this forum after being on the boglehead (aka knucklehead forum) for several years. Actually a thread on the boglehead forum had a link to this forum and I'm very happy that I clicked on the link. The boglehead forum is a great forum but it feels too dogmatic about the 3 fund portfolio and dismisses other ideas as heresy. I'm very interested in the golden butterfly portfolio and the permanent portfolio. Any suggestions you have are greatly appreciated.

Spend a day (or a week) playing around with different portfolio allocations using Tyler's Portfolio Charts tools. It's a real education and it will give you an intuitive sense of how the various components work together. Both the relative risks of the various allocations and how well they perform over time.tigerdoc93 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 13, 2020 9:37 am I'm very interested in the golden butterfly portfolio and the permanent portfolio. Re: Daily "Check In" Thread For Us
Good deal. I have wasted too much time worrying about money.
I haven't been on Boggleheads in a long while, even if I'm not as negative about it as some.
I started using the Waking Up meditation app lately. I'm enjoying that

Gonna do that now on break instead of overmuch time on financial musings.
