Since most anti-maskers are typically worried about government control, worried about the nanny and surveillance state, I thought of a good reason to wear a mask.
---I assume there's no current facial recognition system that can deal with mask wearing. Wear a mask and at least you can't be tracked by any facial recognition software.
I verified at least Google Photos does not pick up my or my daughter's faces when masked.

I thought I'd heard something on C-Span that this is something that is being worked on?Cortopassi wrote: ↑Thu Jul 23, 2020 10:32 pm Since most anti-maskers are typically worried about government control, worried about the nanny and surveillance state, I thought of a good reason to wear a mask.

Re: A good reason for wearing a mask
Speaking of facial recognition, I recently deleted all my photos online with images of my face when I read somewhere that this is how they are creating the facial recognition database.
To take it one step further, I found a website that produces AI generated faces and put that on my Facebook home page.
If everyone did that it might make the system even more useless than the wearing of masks.

Re: A good reason for wearing a mask
So then what are the options?
If 95% wore masks, and rates did not decrease, the powers that be are caught in a bad spot, no? What do they do if that happened? You guys aren’t washing hands enough? What is the next reason that would be used?
If anything, regardless of whether masks even make it worse, the media and government can continue to use the lack of universal mask wearing as an excuse when/if numbers don’t drop.
And of course, they’ll use it as a reason they work even if the numbers would have naturally dropped anyway.
You can beat yourself silly with the mask argument, but it will not change a single outcome because it can be rigged either way and there’s no way to prevent that.
