Yeah I ordered a different book last week, even being a "Prime" book it was still a 5 day shipping quote. I think it's still related to lockdown stuff. Amazon has been prioritizing things they see as a potential need and de-prioritizing things like books that are not a necessity.

On the other hand, if you are buying used books, they seem to not be affected.

I guess it could be , but after more than 30 years of reading pp books and articles it’s like being married for decades ....there is little to get excited about in the bedroom. Lol

I have over 500 personal finance books. Have not come close to reading them all. And have been reading them for over 30 years. But this one was distinctly different in that aspect I cited above.

I can’t say I get excited or impressed with financial books anymore ....especially pp books which tend to just reiterate what has been said for decades , just changing the wording .

But I did like the book and do recommend it if you have an interest in the pp

"Investing Equanimity: The Logic & Wisdom of the Permanent Portfolio"

I decided to write this book because the only way to truly satisfy my fascination with the concept of the Permanent Portfolio was to just write a book about it and "get it out of my system".

I wrote it in such a manner that it is accessible to someone who has stumbled upon this mysterious "Permanent Portfolio" machine for the first time; we start from absolute first principles and build from there. However, I also wrote with Permanent Portfolio veterans in mind (in other words, Gyroscopic folks), because I think there is a lot to be explored regarding the deeper philosophy of this idea, even if you are extremely knowledge concerning the mechanics of the strategy.

Investing Equanimity: The Logic & Wisdom of The Permanent Portfolio by Eric Deslauriers. Published in 2020, it was written by one of the members of the OG PP forum GyroscopicInvesting (see the launch thread here).

It explains the theoretical basis of the four components and how they interplay during the various times of economic expansion/decline, then explains the process and mechanism of a four-fund rebalanced polio (including a chapter about PP relevance for FIRE), and concludes with 17 parables.

If you're looking for a friendly exploration of the permanent portfolio and its benefits, look no further.
