International Travel?

Post by bedraggled »

I like to cross an ocean 3 times a year and spend 60 days on trains combined with modestly priced lodgings.

Any thoughts on when/if this opportunity might return?

And do you think plane fares will become exorbitant?

Thanks.

Yes. 3 to 6 months.

Yes. For the next couple of years until memories fade and the “save a dollar at any cost” mentality resumes for the masses and the greed/competitive mentality kicks in for the stockholders and companies. Maybe longer. The roaring 20s roared relatively quickly after the Spanish flu.

Mountaineer,

Thanks for your response.

Your mention of the Roaring 20s and its proximity to the Spanish Flu is great and, maybe instructive for this group.

I would really appreciate more ideas on travel as I like Florida but i wish to go away more now than when I lived in Manhattan. Manhattan is like "Wayne's World: party on!" And I start paying into Medicare this month!

Jim Cramer, Mad Money, had a piece yesterday on charting and tech analysis and the end of the first wave of the virus. It was broadcast yesterday, 4/21. I will post on the Discussion forum.
