Then, there's Miss Moneypenny. A clever reference to the PP's cash piece.
Finally, there are the titles of these three James Bond films: Goldfinger, The Man With the Golden Gun, and GoldenEye. I think that pretty well covers the PP's gold piece.
If you think about it, James Bond is the PP. When everything around him is explosively volatile and the fate of the free world is in doubt, he always keeps his cool like it's just another day and completes his mission.
He always gets the girl(s), too! Sexiness isn't exactly a hallmark of the PP, but hey--telling a good story often involves an embellishment or two
