Are all the old posts still here?

Post by dualstow »

The forum has had a few hiccups. I wanted to reread an old post that Kevin made about how with FreeBSD, everything one needs to know is in the manual. It's driving me nuts that I can't find it. Tried a google search with site:{thissite'sname} appended.
Is it possible some old posts are gone?

For what it's worth, I found the post I was looking for in the thread called "The AK-47 Version of everything."
Only took me a half hour. O0

Ha! Even going through all of Kevin's posts, what one sees is of course post excerpts.
When Ctrl+F for keywords fails, you need to look at each one title until you say, "That looks like a likely thread."
Sometimes it takes a human. I never use https://www.dmoz.org/ though. Always google or duckduckgo.
