"Sully" movie

Post by ochotona »

I really enjoyed this flick. Man, those NTSB guys were pri**s. They really tied the release of this film in well with the 15th anniversary of 9/11, as you see US Air 1549 gliding past Manhattan skyscrapers it inevitably reminds you of 9/11.

I'd understood that the crash investigators were unfairly portrayed. But I haven't seen the film. They claim that it sullies their reputation. (yuk yuk)

Government bureaucrats usually make for easy villains when you need one in a dramatic "based on a true story" move like this so I was somewhat sympathetic to their complaints about being unfairly portrayed. Upon further reading, I found a report that said Sully stands by the portrayal in the movie so he definitely gets the benefit of the doubt from me if that is true.
