Super Tuesday
It's hilarious to me how both sides are flipping out over the prospects of a President Donald Trump. Super Tuesday could be the death knell for his opponents and could cause the hysteria to reach a fevered pitch. Rubio has turned into a desperate type, eschewing his pleasant demeanor facade. Cruz is praying to survive Texas. Trump could win all or most of the states this evening.
Re: Super Tuesday
He did win Minnesota but your point stands. It will be hard to continue to spin this but they will try anyway.TennPaGa wrote: Looks like Rubio did not win a single state. I am curious to see how the pro-marcorubio media spins *that*.
Re: Super Tuesday
Rubio will be done after he loses Florida to Trump on March 15th, leaving the party leaders the unpleasant task of choosing between Trump and Cruz.
Re: Super Tuesday
I'm surprised that more people don't see that behind all of the bluster, Trump is essentially a moderate, and I like the chances of a moderate against Clinton much better than the chances of one of these far right ideological guys like Cruz and Rubio.Reub wrote: Rubio will be done after he loses Florida to Trump on March 15th, leaving the party leaders the unpleasant task of choosing between Trump and Cruz.
In a Trump/Hillary race, I don't think it will even be close. Trump will flatten her.
In a Cruz/Hillary race, I think that Hillary wins as she bangs away on the abortion and gay rights issues, forcing Cruz to constantly tell people that he doesn't think women should have the right to choose and that he doesn't think that gay people should have a legitimate place in society. That's the box Clinton would put him in, and I'm not sure how he would get out of it.
I think that Cruz's whole premise that Republican nominees in recent cycles have been insufficiently conservative to get elected is simply false. When I see the ethnic changes in our country and the demographic shifts, I think that ANY candidate who wants to be elected President has to be able to grab some of those votes from the center, especially if you are a Republican.

Re: Super Tuesday
I wish I could be confident that Trump will beat Hillary. I think she is our next president.
As to the GOP, I think they will trip all over themselves lining up behind Trump. There will be a few who throw themselves under the bus, though.

Agreed. People continue to underestimate Trump, to their detriment.TennPaGa wrote: Also, I think Hillary beats Cruzubio (think 80's Phil Collins), but Trump beats Hillary.
Human behavior is economic behavior. The particulars may vary, but competition for limited resources remains a constant.

Trump will beat Hillary the way he beat Jeb.TennPaGa wrote:Backpfeifengesicht! Backpfeifengesicht! Backpfeifengesicht!Desert wrote:

Decisively.
Remember, Jeb was supposed to be the front runner.

Romney will be making an announcement tomorrow, the day of the next debate. Just how desperate are these insiders?
