Tonight's $1.5 Billion Powerball Drawing
So tonight's powerball drawing is less than 12 hours away. Curious how my fellow PP'ers would choose to take their winnings and invest should you win the jackpot.

Re: Tonight's $1.5 Billion Powerball Drawing
I think I would take the lump sum and invest mostly PP. My main reasoning is that this would eliminate the risk of the government eliminating payments in a financial crisis. I would take the lump sum and invest it myself.

More I think about it, even though the money if invested wisely should support infinite generations of my family, I would probably take a large chunk and buy some large multiunit apartment buildings, ones large enough to need a property manager and kicking off enough income to make a profit.
The management of those employees working for the complex would then become my "job"
I assume there is some # where it becomes nearly impossible not to make money, and to worry less about vacancies and management? 48 units? 100 units? Something.

I'd probably save 25% in the PP and the rest to shoot for the moon in terms of providing angel investing, etc. to entrepreneurs. All of that money could be very useful to the right people in terms of creating more real value for the U.S. and abroad.

If I won (which I won't, because I didn't buy any tickets), I would begin a huge publicity campaign to educate people as to the "unwisdom" (I'm being tactful here) of sinking billions of their hard-earned spendolas into lottery tickets.
