70/30 vs HBPP Week 1 2016

Post by buddtholomew »

70/30: -5.5
HBPP with additional cash (5.6 duration), slightly equity heavy: -.25%

Now I remember why I selected the PP for the money "I can't afford to lose."

FYI, my wife's portfolio I set up for her as buy-and hold, is 30/70. Budd, flip your numbers around, and you'll feel better in this market.

But wait for the pretty stiff oversold / short covering bounce. It is coming maybe next week. Sell off after the bounce, get down to 30% equities.

Oh no, I'm comfortable with both allocations and know what to expect when holding 70% in equities.

It could get ugly this year and next.

Those assets are earmarked for 20-25 years from now.
