Just bought a black 1997 Toyota Land Crusier

Post by Coffee »

Stumbled across a really good deal: $8700 (plus TTL).  124k miles.  In very good mechanical condition.  Fair-to-good cosmetic condition.  Last year of the venerable I6.

My new bug out vehicle.  ::)

Congratulations.  A good deal on a good car is very satisfying.

Find a good brake shop.  As I recall, the pads and rotors were undersized on that model.  My wife used to work at a Lexus dealership and the large SUV based on the Land Cruiser was a known brakes eater (like every 12,000 miles).

Does it have a basket on top to mount a .50 caliber when TSHTF?  How about a leather chaps rack?

Sun roof for my woman to pop out of... braless and toting her AK47.

Chaps on a leather interior don't really give you the full sensation... do they?

P.S.  Nothing says, "baller" like a $10k truck.

I assume you'll have a load of dogs in the back, right?

Right now, we're down to just one Golden Retriever.  We've got our house up for sale in Vegas (in escrow) and we're renting in N. Nevada right now.  Once we find a house (read: Survival retreat) to buy here and move into, I'll probably get a Rottweiler or a Rhodesian or some big ugly mixed breed.  ;)

Or maybe an Australian Cattle dog, like the one in Mad Max.
