I had gotten a little bit anxious about the Swedish version of the Permanent Portfolio so in August and through September I tried to remedy this by reallocating my assets. I even abandoned the PP for a couple of weeks for a 60% Stock, 20% Bonds and 20% Gold allocation.
The results...
A loss equal to a little bit more than 1 month worth of my savings and a discovery of a mutual fund that explicitly invests in Swedish Treasury Bills for my cash allocation, Now I am back on the Permanent portfolio for good. My psyche can't handle these drops in value. Hopefully I can regain the losses but I wouldn't count on it.
I burned myself

Re: I burned myself
you do know over the same time frame the pp fell too . the pp actually turned negative for the year for me well before my more aggressive mixes since the more aggressive mixes fell more but from a much higher cushion which was up nicely for the year .
don't beat yourself up , just move on and wait for the recovery
