Google ads

Post by foglifter »

Craigr, I apologize for an off-topic, just wanted to share an amusing observation.

I laughed when I spotted a particular Google ad banner here on the forum that promised "32 dividend checks a month" if I subscribe to some report. Sounds almost like oxymoron given the idea of this forum.  :D
But seriously, it just reminds me once again how simple and brilliant the PP paradigm is.

The ads can be ridiculous. I waver constantly between keeping them or turning them off. Some of the non-investing ads are actually interesting and useful. Most of the investing ads are worthless.

Most of them are pretty ridiculous.  I don't mind them, though, because I figure they help craigr defray some of the costs of running the site.

I think you'll actually have to at least click on them for the defraying to happen...

In a way, I consider the investing ads an intelligence test.  :)

I don't mind either. I think most visitors will understand why the ads are here and that these ads are placed by Google, not by craigr. :D

some guy wrote: Craigr you might want to re-read your advertising agreement with Google, i dont know this for sure but i have heard they dont always view threads that comment on adds kindly, we dont want to be doing something that could cost you the revenue stream that supports this site..
If they shut off the ads, I'll live. I'm not encouraging click fraud.
