Hello, My Name is Volatility

Post by MediumTex »

Times like this make me feel like PP investors have a ringside seat to market action and we can really enjoy it, rather than feeling like we are on the verge of being destroyed by the spectacle we are observing.

We're close to the action, but just outside the "splash zone."  That's where you want to be. :)

Well put.  I enjoy the volatility and like the analogy that has been made in the past comparing periods of negative PP return to a spring being wound tighter and tighter.

If a 2.26% fluctuation in value bothers you, the PP is going to be torture for you.

This sort of fluctuation in the PP is not uncommon at all.

Is that term from Gallagher and his watermelon-smashing shows?  :)
In honor of the Taiwanese kid who put his fist through a $1.5million painting, I guess it's also the "crash zone."

I was thinking more Sea World, but Gallagher is good.
