A separate check for my wife and me sounds great. Does anyone have a problem with separate checks? Two omelets for brunch, with tip will be approx. $50. I am resigned to the fate.

How exactly are we all meeting each other there?

I think you should go for the Harry Browne masks.

I will be wearing a Yankees shirt and a blue ballcap.Tom wrote: How exactly are we all meeting each other there?
(I take it for granted that no self-respecting PP investor would even *think* of showing up in Boston Red Sox attire.) Although, on such a special occasion, I would be willing to make a grudging exception to this rule.

It might be too late but maybe someone should set up a poll so you can get a head count...

Love that idea! I figure it shouldn't be too hard, just look for around 6-8 nerds milling around. I'll give the cafe a call in the AM to warn them.Tyler wrote:I think everyone should just sit down and casually lay an American Eagle on the table.Pointedstick wrote: I think you should go for the Harry Browne masks.
Some directions: A train to 190th, take the elevator up to Fort Washington. Walk straight north into Fort Tryon park and it's the first building you come to, right before the Cloisters. If coming by car, it's usually easy to park right in front of the cafe, or at the Cloisters. It being nice weather and a Saturday it may be a bit crowded though. There's a parking garage at 190th/Fort Washington if all else fails.
New Leaf is kind of expensive if you order entrees, but you can get snacks/bar food stuff for less. I guess we could have gone for a diner on the upper west side or something instead, maybe next time.

The menu suggests 2 omelets at brunch with tip will be $50.
The idea of snacks might work but can we talk easily just hanging around and loitering?
Am I correct the idea of the gathering is an exchange of ideas? For example, the "No where to hide" thread and this gathering may be perfect.
Would be good to have a sit down.

TennPaGa,
Don't know about the T-shirts but is that a Winnie-the-Pooh quote?

The weather report says it will be cloudy today, with little chance of rain, but the temperature will be on the chilly side. A sweater may be advisable.
And the "A" train headed toward 190th St. is skipping the following stations: Spring St, 23 St and 50 St.
So long,

Barrett suggests the quote that TennPaGa sports is not Winnie-The Pooh but I've seen it before. Anyone?
Thanks.

Some credit this quote to Yogi Berra, the eminent baseball philosopher and another legendary member of the world's only *serious* baseball team.bedraggled wrote: Barrett suggests the quote that TennPaGa sports is not Winnie-The Pooh but I've seen it before. Anyone?

While we are at it, Bedraggled=Kevin.
Also, i have brought up the designated hitter in the bond section, negative TLT yield, I think. I asked there if the DH is worthy of a separate thread. Maybe we could bury the DH and a thread notion at the same time. Gone are the days of Mel Stottlemyre hitting 1 or 2 home runs a year and Fritz Peterson whacking bombs for outs 420 feet to center field. And Stottlemyre hit an inside-the-park grand slam against the Red Sox in 1965. I do wander a bit, it seems.
Alas.

Yes I'm in favor of just hanging outside - there are tables between the restaurant & garden and if you want a drink or something you can just go get it at the bar.
It's actually supposed to get pretty warm today.
See you all there! Best T shirt design contest?

Our HBPP gathering was excellent.
Pointed Stick and Mark Leavy should have flown in for Eggs Benedict on West 187th Street.
The 4x25 was well celebrated.
We are a good group.

The attendees would probably no Aqualung match. I am getting a haircut this week, though.
