Obama Prepares To Distribute 34 Million Green Cards To Illegals
President Obama is quietly preparing to order 34 million blank work permits that will allow illegal immigrants to remain and work in the United States. It is believed that he will be handing these out to illegals shortly after the upcoming midterm elections.

Others (including D'Souza) have said the same thing, but perhaps not so succinctly:
my theorem about Barack Obama to understand him.
1.The world will be more safe if the United States is less safe.
2.The world will be more stable if the United States is less stable.
3.Act against one and two only when polling demands it and only then in a way that does not actually undermine one and two.
President Obama entire Presidency can be explained by this theorem
Erick Erickson from redstate.
This comes from anti-colonialism (not the usual progressive beliefs).

In that case, he should have dismantled the entire government, or something equally destabilizing and unsafe to the U.S.Benko wrote: Others (including D'Souza) have said the same thing, but perhaps not so succinctly:

And if he was truly anti-colonial, why grossly expand our presence in Afghanistan? Obama's about as "anit-colonial" as Bush was "not a nation-builder."
It certainly would be a lot easier to truly accurately critique the president if it wasn't so painfully obvious that people are willing to bend their analysis to rdiculous extremes to reinforce their political beliefs.

There's a kernel of truth in that, though. I think Obama is just another typical liberal who's mildly of the "self-hating American" variety in that he feels deeply ashamed and saddened by much of our history, but convinces himself that he loves the country anyway for what it could become in the future more so than what it is now and has been in the past. To accomplish that vision of the future, he, like so many self-hating American liberals, believes it is necessary to make the country more compassionate (liberals' #1 priority). And what could be more compassionate that using this nation's vast resources that have so often been used to oppress outsiders to instead help them?
In other words, he sees the USA more as a tool to be used to right past and present wrongs than a society and culture worth preserving and protecting.
IMHO.

There's a "kernel of truth" in almost all the blathering of the right and the left. I really don't think that this is a good threshold of holding meaningful conversation. "Relatively clear and full truth," is probably a better one.Pointedstick wrote: There's a kernel of truth in that, though. Benko,
There's nothing I can confidently say worked out better with Obama than otherwise would have. But I really don't think the Repubs can say the opposite.
All-in-all, not having an inflationist at the fed chair position is probably the most important thing Obama has "accomplished."
Other than that... not really too much. But that doesn't really lend any creedance to most of the blow-hard belly-aching of Republicans. I don't see this country being in any better of a position right now with Romney or McCain in office. Even if it would be, once again, the ridiculous accusations of republicans vs "it'd be somewhat better with Romney" is a vastly different conclusion.
I'm anxious for when we have another republican president, and liberals start coming out of the wood-work with ridiculous accusations... I'll be the first to defend Jeb

But I'm going to call out ridiculously inconsistent conclusions as such. This board is a place where facts usually rise to the top. I'd lik to keep it that way.

What is rising to the top are 34 million new green cards that the Prez will be handing out like candy to illegals....aka new Democrats...shortly after the election without the approval of Congress.
I can hardly wait to see what other gems he will be hurling at us when he is unfettered by the election process.

Three-hundred and ninety-four years from the Plymouth landing till today, and all built in the span between, all those wars and trials and what grew of them, from today's now neglected free-spoken town-hall to the pinnacles of the greatest works known to man---once, when there was still the will to build them---the pains and triumphs of a people still shines through its tarnish. See those great things glimmer as they are handed off to strangers without ado.
And in silence America's founding stock turn away to the blue haze of their televisions, comforted by opinion-making partisans of foreign states. So media, the unelected branch of government, became an opiate greater than the poppy that reduced China. And what bargain did the founding-stock strike for this disinheritance? What was gained by playing Esau to their forbears gifts? Was it for this indifference Washington froze at Valley Forge? Why build a nation only to throw it away?
See the teeming, swarming hordes still eager to come, their appetite whetted by yet another stumble. As the Komodo bites the Water Buffalo, a creature of more honest and greater strength, watch the reptile as it waits, waits, only to triumph through treachery. Soon Esau, the hunter, the braver brother, the first-born, is supplanted by a lesser man in hiding in kid-skin.
Now come thirty-four million strangers as equals-in-vote. People possessed of two-thousand word vocabularies in their native tongues, many with mature stature no greater than the average founding-stock juvenile, their silhouettes recalling a half-naked squatting form in some far-off, humid jungle yet unknown to democracy, the enlightenment, or jurisprudence.
No, by such termites great oaks are felled. But Pax-America will fall to Pax-China, the heterogeneous to the still-homogeneous, and no-one will care, so long as their stocks "perform".

Why does Obama need all those illegal immigrants to become democrat voters if he's going to abolish the next presidential elections anyway? After taking away our guns of course?

I'm no expert in the different kinds of defective argumentation, but perhaps this is called Reductio ad absurdum. In any case, your reply is so over the top as to be silly. And you must know this.
PS's reply is pretty funny, and creative. But back to the point:
Look at O's foreign policy. Look how we have treated our former allies e.g. Britain, Israel. etc. Which countries have we supported and not?

I was just carrying your logic about Obama's logic to its logical conclusion.

I know your comments were a bit tongue in cheek (they would have to be, oterwise my conclusion seems to be valid of his likely behavior (unless, like Tech, you really think we'd be more stable and safe without government)).
But you had little more than a "kernel of truth" in your statement. It was just another gross exaggeration of Obama's intentions as president, IMO. Now we all throw some snark around here, but it seems to me when we approach snark-to-substance ratios approaching that of some of the arguments being made, it's simply counter productive. IMO... of course.

If Obama is truly a Socialist AND hates U.S. power, he would believe that the dismantling of our government would be the ultimate blow to our country's power... and given Benko's assertion about his intentions, he would have moved in that direction, rather than that of more control.
On another note, I really, really do wish we could run an "experimental" scenario in which the entire federal government just disbands itself, and watch as our new-found anarchist utopia develops. Of course, this is pretty impossible for an economist/philosopher to get in economics/politics.

Between Zach de la Rocha, Karl Marx, Jason Lewis, Ayn Rand, Kshartle/techno-topia, and that crazy bald dude on Youtube (Stefan something...), there is quite a bit of certainty as to what freedom (and the legitimate use of force to defend it) truly is out there.
Kind of makes you want to hear a rational proof of the morality behind it all, or something crazy like that
