Islamic Terrorism
Worrying about criminal cops is so far down on my list. With the massive threat from Islamic jihadist terrorist madmen such as ISIS it pales by comparison.
Just today I've been reading about their plans to weaponize the bubonic plague, use undetectable explosives sewn into their bodies in simultaneous worldwide attacks, and their possible seizure of 11 jetliners in Tripoli. Forgive me for not worrying about a couple of rogue cops or even my right to private emails.
Oh yes! And another beheading of an American.

I can easily avoid being beheaded in Iraq or Syria, simply by not going there.
I can't very easily avoid criminal cops.
And Doctor Doom is teaming up with Thanos and Freddy Kruger to travel from the Crab Nebula to get us unless we develop a mega dark matter ray gun to zap them.
We will have to all move into apartments and go to meatless diet with no more TV channels (other than white house press releases) to pay for it.
I think the sacrifice will be well worth it.

You sadly delude yourself. Islamic terrorism is real and is a direct threat to you and to your loved ones. It is just a matter of time before they again kill thousands of us, or at least attempt to.

If thousands of subjects of the US Government are murdered by Muslims, it will be because they didn't stop their government from murdering millions of Muslims, supporting and installing their dictators, and arming and supporting their enemies (Israeli government).
Why aren't Swiss citizens at risk? Or the Finns, or Thai, or Chinese, or Peruvian?
It's foolish to prescribe a solution (bombing and killing) for a symptom ("terrorism") when you haven't diagnosed the disease (US Imperialism).

Did we diseased US Imperialists kill "millions" of Muslims prior to 9/11/2001 when we were attacked by Islamic terrorists? Why were those kindly Muslim Ottoman Imperialists trying to take over Western Europe in the 1500s - stopped at the gates of Vienna? Why did those kindly Muslim Imperialists take over Spain in the 700s? Why do those kindly Muslims keep fighting each other as well as the infidels? Why have those kindly Muslims been aggressively fighting for the last 1400 years - long before those diseased US Imperialists existed?Kshartle wrote: If thousands of subjects of the US Government are murdered by Muslims, it will be because they didn't stop their government from murdering millions of Muslims, supporting and installing their dictators, and arming and supporting their enemies (Israeli government).

I would bet they have a much higher count of muslim scalps than the other way around.
You want to bring up the 8th century to protect your beliefs about the righteousness of Christians over the children of Satan (Muslims) or whatever.
If Muslim terrorism was real then we'd actually see evidence of it. There are millions of muslims here in the US. Where's the terrorism? A couple reporters get their heads cut off in countries that have been torn apart by boming and invasions from the west and the arming of radicals (US backed Al-CIADA) and now we have to go on another crusade?
I wish you religious zealots would just stick to going to church or temple or mosque rather than try to get everyone on board with the murders and invasions and caliphates you dream of. I'm sure the muslims feel the same way about their zealots.
Running around saying Muslims want to kill us we need the government to attack them is just as ridiculous as the Jihadists who say the Great Satan and the Crusaders are coming to destroy them so they need to stiike back. Actually, they have a much stronger case due to the invasions and the arming of their enemies and dictators by the western governments. So the call for blood from over here is actually more ridiculous.

Re: Islamic Terrorism
Can't believe I am wading into this...
Dare I bring up attacks against Muslims by "Buddhists" in Burma? Or the "ethnic cleansing" of Muslims in Bosnia. Religious hate is worldwide and goes in all directions depending on circumstances.
I strongly believe that Kshartle is correct that, at least to a certain degree, we are reaping what we have sewn in Islamic countries. We've done a lot of bad stuff with the goal of protecting access to as much oil as we need. That being said, there does seem to be something especially sinister about current Islamic Terrorism. Could just be recency bias and that "we" are the victims this time.
Regarding specifically Islamic terrorism, China definitely has a big problem. Thailand is on that list. The Philippines have been been dealing with it in Mindanao for decades.
I don't know the answer but I think it surely must start with being less passionate about religion and more compassionate for our fellow humans.

Re: Islamic Terrorism
I am assuming from your comments you reject the concept of sin, both original and actual, and have some sort of belief that man will progress to perfection while on this earth? I thought that idea of a progressive mankind which was batted around hot and heavy at the end of the 19th century died when WWI and WWII hit the scene and once again, man proved he was a sinful being incapable of being "good".Kshartle wrote:Not unless we discuss the crusades, the inquisition, the massacre of muslims by christians in Lebanon during the civil war there, the LRA in Uganda, the KKK, and countless examples of Christian violence and invasion and conquest and massacres etc.Mountaineer wrote:Why were those kindly Muslim Ottoman Imperialists trying to take over Western Europe in the 1500s - stopped at the gates of Vienna? So, I'm a bit fascinated by your somewhat implied belief that Muslims are more holy than Christians, or atheists are more holy (righteous?) than believers in the Triune God? Or that because of atrocities done in the name of corrupt religions (i.e. the inquisition, or Islamic aggression wars for 1400 years) it is somehow OK for Muslims to retaliate or not be called Islamic terrorists? Seems to be all of us, regardless of their god/God (Allah, God, Buddah, or self), are quite fallen creatures in need of the Savior. And, before this thread gets hijacked any further (I'm guilty too) by equating "Islamic terrorism" with corrupt Christians or corrupt secularites or corrupt cops, or the influence of Satan, maybe we should continue the discussion in the religion thread if we are going to focus on religion or religious zealots?

Stop supporting violence against others. That's the solution. Defend yourself, don't attack. Stop giving people justification for hate.barrett wrote: I don't know the answer but I think it surely must start with being less passionate about religion and more compassionate for our fellow humans.
If a powerful Muslim nation was arming western dictators, invading and bombing western countries, supporting an Islamic state in the heart of western Europe that blockaded several million Christians in an open-air prison, would that be worse than "Islamic Terrorism"? That is what your average man on the Islamic street sees. Look at it from his perspective for a moment and ask how you might feel.
That's a lot more challenging than just listening to the pastor or Hannity or the president when they say Islamic terrorism is a big threat and buying their scams.
Re: Islamic Terrorism
K, I don't have a problem with anything you have just written. So do we pull back and defend only our own borders? Is that where you would draw the line? Or do we protect Canada too because that's basically in our backyard? Do we not do anything when our NATO allies are attacked?
Re: Islamic Terrorism
NATO does nothing to help the Americans. All it does is entangle Americans in problems stirred up by other governments or entangle other people in problems stirred up by the US government. Hence the founding fathers wrote about avoiding alliances with other nations. Obviously they had studied history and saw how disastrous that nonsense is.barrett wrote: K, I don't have a problem with anything you have just written. I just saw on the idiot box that Obomber is calling on NATO to attack ISIS. Welcome aboard the US disaster train NATO countries.
As far as Canada goes.......Whatever the Canadian government does to cause hatred of their subjects is the responsibility of Canadians. You are welcome to volunteer to protect them or send them money for guns or whatever else you want to arm them with. Please don't involve me. (I'm not speaking directly to you, just in general)
If a Muslim murders an American because of religious zealotry that's the same as a dude shooting the 7-11 clerk in a robbery. It's a crime. The government shouldn't prevent people from defending themselves against it. That means abide by the 2nd amendment if we're not going to just scrap the entire government concept

To answer the question about 9/11, I don't know exactly what happened on that date. I do know that the official conspiracy theory as to what happened that day is not true. Look up "Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth".

OMG tech you don't believe the story about 19 magical muslims with box cutters who defeated the spy agencies, the ariports, the air force, the pentagon defenses?Libertarian666 wrote: To answer the question about 9/11, I don't know exactly what happened on that date. You don't believe they left a Koran at a strip club where they bragged about taking down the US?
You don't believe that 5 or 6 of them rented a house from an FBI agent who didn't do a background check on them?
You don't beleive that the huge failure of all these US agencies didn't lead to any investigations or firings?
You don't beleive that it's just a coincidence that the US had an invasion force prepared to attack Afghanistan with weeks?
You don't believe it's just a coincidence that 5 Mossad agents dressed as Muslims were captured by police while they were filming the attack and cheering and dancing?
You don't beleive that building 7 was blown up by Osama later in the day in a controlled demolition carefully planned by the box cutter magicians?
There's about 200 more ridiculous insane nonsensical things you have to believe to beleive the stupid "official" theory. It's so stupid it's unbelivable. If you believe the official theory you either know nothing about 9/11 or you are unable to process anything close to reality.
I don't exactly know what happend either. I know the official theory is a bigger fairy tale than the Hobbit.
