in 1988, the late John Martin, then an oceanographer at the Moss Landing Marine Observatory, said: ‘Give me a half tanker of iron, and I will give you an ice age.’
Human behavior is economic behavior. The particulars may vary, but competition for limited resources remains a constant.

Corollary:  Give me a tanker-sized magnet and I can create...global warming.

This kind of stuff always gives me the willies.  The biggest, baddest factor in earth's climate is the sun.  I don't want anyone proposing to install a thermostat.

Better to have scientists installing a thermostat than capitalists and statists alike running wood-burning stoves unchecked everywhere.

;)

But seriously... This is a bit scary. It's playing with nature in artificial ways... Exactly what some are trying to stop happening with pollution right now.

Yeah, the article is actually filled with scary stuff.  Like this:
Much of the oxygen we breathe comes from just one species of cyanobacteria
So all we need is for a bacteriophage to infect the cyanobacteria and no more oxygen...
