How it should happen not like DOGE is doing it
For the record, I am 110% in favor of budget cutting. But not the way it has been done. Department heads and managers, supervisors should do a forced ranking of their people and yank the bottom 10% or whatever... much like all of us in corporation have done since forever-ago. And you really have to ...

The Minnesota State Senator who filed a Bill defining TDS as an actual mental illness in Minnesota was arrested for soliciting sex from a minor. Good people!

Wait, wouldn't we want to hang onto Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba too? Not according to my friends in Alberta. They don't want to go. They have the oddball here and there with Trump signs. Don't mistake their hatred of Trudeau for something it isn't. Trudeau was anti oil & gas, that's the...

Re: BTC in the PP
I'm all in on BTC at $10,000. If the general stock market takes a nosedive in 2025-2026, BTC will go down by multiples of that. $100,000 > $10,000... typical BTC behavior. Its seems to be an amplifier for human emotions... it reveals the worst possible investor behavior. Performance chasing, recency...

Guys look at the chart for Lockheed Martin, ticker symbol LMT. It's down 25% from the 52-week high.
People are really pissed off. I've been reading that Germany and Belgium are thinking about cancelling F-35 orders.
Defense One: Trump’s anti-NATO turn could sink F-35 sales

The Mar-A-Lago Accord is dead before it was ever born
What is the Mar-a-Lago Accord? The US gives the rest of the world: 1. Security 2. Access to US markets/US consumers The US gets from the rest of the world: 1. A weaker dollar 2. A bigger manufacturing sector 3. Existing US Treasury debt swapped to new Treasury century bonds Two tools to achieve such...

Something else came to mind... as I was reading that Portugal cancelled it's F-35 order and Canada is pondering whether to cancel it's rather large F-35 order. $13.2 BILLION. "Oh just a flesh wound I tell you!" We've been dragged not of our own will into an era where maybe people don't wan...

Tariffs on goods may be a prelude to tariffs on money Capital inflows could be the Trump administration’s next target This FT article is paywalled... but I saw just the title and it instantly clicked. That's the only way Trump can make the Policy Trilemma work . According to the Trilemma, you can h...

I follow Jordan Roy-Bryne. I subscribe to his newsletter. He has said that $3000 was the measured upside target based on the log term cup and handle formation, but the measured upside target done on a logarithmic axis is $4000, to come maybe six-twelve months after $3000.

Here's the most disturbing thing about a President trying to command and control the economy. With every EO, every angry press conference, even Truth Social post, it gets more and more Soviet style. Let's say the President thinks oil is too high. It's $67 now, but let's say his polling indicate it h...

Businesses do a good job charging consumers as much as they can pay. If Chinese EVs have a profit margin of 20% and US auto 10%, a 10% tariff on China might be a way to generate revenue. If China wants to give you EVs at nearly cost. . .take them. Exceptions for national security and food. Global M...

I'm missing why banks should not be earning money on their deposits? Because the social role for banks is to make loans to businesspeople so that they can invest in plant & equipment, hire employees, and create wealth in the real world. Banks now apparently (according to Shelton) can park their...

Judy Shelton was interviewed, and she keeps bringing up the idea about gold back bonds. And 0% inflation target instead of constant currency debasement. 🚧 Moved to VP section / Ds 🚧 I know ex-US stocks are not part of the HBPP, yet I really do think that ex-US vs US is starting to turn the corner. It's pretty simple. Currently, the US is pursuing an austerity budget. Europe is pursuing a expansion budget (re-arming itself). War spending is stimulati...

The strategies I use for Tactical Asset Allocation are, unsurprisingly, going risk-off. That said, I don't trade next until the last trading day of March, there could be a bounce back before then. End of February, 14% US large cap equities (some SPY, some RSP) 20% International equities (doing well ...

I just don't get "you should take him seriously not literally... that's the problem with you people with TDS". I don't have any kind of relationship in my life where I apply those rules of the road. Never did, never will. If someone points a gun at you - "aw, he didn't mean it like th...
