Re: Wisdom through Mistakes
Not working as hard as you can and leveraging your skills in your 20's. Great post by Wall Street Playboys about this: http://wallstreetplayboys.com/what-type-of-intelligence-do-you-have/ To summarize it: anyone has a certain type of intelligence because of external factors and interest. If you use ...

Re: College is Overrated
Great replies guys! I'm going to think about it after my second internship (finishing in four weeks) and take a good look at the options. I'm starting to love this forum! :) The personality that I have (call it good or bad) is that I always like to finish what I've started. If I would take the job ...

Re: College is Overrated
I'm going to bump this topic because I'm heading towards an important life decision about college. A little introduction: Graduating this summer in a bachelor Business/Communication with one job offer already on the table. After reading this topic I realized I went for the wrong decisions four years...

Re: Question: starting up my european PP
I wouldn't open up a brokerage account unless having at least 10.000 EUR to invest. Plus two months of living expenses readily available all the time in a savings account, which ought not to be invested at all. Don't get greedy and save up some real money first. Fair point. My living expenses at th...

Question: starting up my european PP
Hi everyone The Permanent Portfolio sounds like one of the best investing strategies for my lifestyle. I decided to start up my own permanent portfolio. At the moment I have 1200 euro invested in Vanguard S&P500 UCITS ETF in Amsterdam with a return of 22%. I want to transfer this into my PP but ...

Re: Early Retirement
I think college is a great way to get easy opportunities then if you would go without a college degree. I know for a fact here in Belgium that a degree ain't that special when you go into a field like marketing/business related. Out of my three years that I attended college I had five internships ju...

Re: Friends, Family & the PP
Are you in the Netherlands, Rob? We seem to have a few Nederlanders here now and then. Belgium, but the dutch side so it would be nice to get in contact with them. I buy my ETF's at Euronext Amsterdam just because Euronext Brussels doesn't have any trackers available at this time. For people intere...

Re: Friends, Family & the PP
PRPFX is a smart recommendation, isn't it. It does some like most people want some handy ticker rather than d.i.y., so better that they pick this one rather than some random stock mutual fund out there with an equally high expense ratio and no balancing assets. Totally true! Too bad they don't have...
