Israel Bonds as a substitute for cash
Friends,
I like Israel Bonds, because the yield is just slightly higher than the Fed. Assuming that I don't need the funds for the duration of the bonds, are Israel Bonds an acceptable place to store PP cash? Thanks,

Correlation between Stocks and Gold?
I'm trying to understand overall trends. When stocks go up, does gold go down, and vice versa? Data would be appreciated. Thanks,

Re: Thinking about this for a PP
I thought about storing it all with them in another country (Melbourne, Australia and Zurich, Switzerland) are both appealing to me. Thoughts? It seems to me like keeping it nearby would be more harm than good.
Thanks again,
Thanks again,

Thinking about this for a PP
Friends, After much consideration, I'm just about ready to deploy the PP. Here's what I'm thinking about doing, comments are welcome: 25% T-Bills (Cash) 25% VFIAX (Stocks) 25% 30Y Bonds (held in separate brokerage account (probably Fidelity?)) (Long Bonds) 25% Hard Assets Alliance (Gold) Thanks in a...

Considering Vanguard Portfolio
Friends,
I'm considering the following Vanguard portfolio (equal weight):
VTI
VGLT
VGSH
IAU
How would the above compare to a standard PP:
VTI
BIL
TLT
IAU
Thoughts?
Thanks in advance!

Question about Redeeming Savings Bonds
Good morning,
I have a question about redeeming EE & I Savings Bonds prior to maturity. What are the tax consequences of doing this? I understand that I will lose some interest (three months), what are the pros and cons of redeeming them?

Agreed, my searching reveals three places thus far:

Helvetia Swiss 20 Franc
Friends,
I'm looking for good online retailers that allow single coin purchases of the Helvetia Swiss 20 Franc and have the coin in stock.
So far, I've found APMEX and Montana Rarities. Are there others currently stocking the coin as well?
Thanks in advance

Re: First Spouse Uncirculated Coins?
Thanks everyone, here's a followup: are the versions available for purchase on the US Mint website considered PP eligible gold? I know that they are "collector" versions, (does this distinction matter, from a gold perspective?) what I guess I am unclear about is how the versions available ...

First Spouse Uncirculated Coins?
Friends,
I just noticed the First Spouse Uncirculated Coins and I wanted to ask if these are considered PP eligible gold. I wasn't familiar with these before just now, and wanted to know more about how the series might fit into a PP.

Re: Diversified VP?
Melvey, I think with UUP my main curiosity was to get currency exposure because I feel like the currency market is underexamined. I'd be happy(ier) to buy swiss francs (FXF), but now that they are pegged to the euro, I believe the us dollar is probably the most reliable currency. The VP is still in ...

Re: Diversified VP?
Thanks for writing. In a VP, I guess I'm looking for more security than the PP offers, though I hadn't formulated it in that way. The volatility seems a bit lower, though that of course also decreases the returns as well. And I don't currently have ETFs, so I thought it might make sense to venture i...

Diversified VP?
Friends,
I'm considering a diversified VP, one which gives equal weighting to the following six ETFs:
UUP (US Dollar)
SGOL (Gold)
VTI (Stocks)
TLT (Long Bonds)
SCHH (Real Estate
BIL (Cash)
This seems a reasonably good way to access six sectors in a convenient fashion. I welcome any thoughts.

I also wanted to mention Valcambi combibars, just as one option to help you get your feet wet in physical gold ownership. <https://www.valcambigold.com/>.
