The sound of silver

This is the random thought of the day. Just received a few bags of junk silver (pre-65) quarters and I was doing a random inspection of the bags to make sure there were no 65+ dates in there.
I don't know why I didn't notice this before (I've purchased silver in the past) but the sound of the coins clanking together was noticeably different than current quarters in circulation. If you grab a handful of current quarters (92% copper) and drop them on the floor, they'll have a high-pitched "tinny" sound.
If you do the same with pre-65 quarters (90% silver), they'll have more of a "clank" sound--very much like the sound you hear in movies with pirates and doubloons. Anyway, like I said--random thoughts...
