Probably, no one here doesn't already know this, but
If you had a time machine to go back to 1970 and were able to see the future, you would absolutely add gold to a sixty forty portfolio of stocks and bonds. ... The 60/40 and the 40/40/20 end up with roughly the same terminal value, but the portfolio that includes gold had significantly lower drawdowns

With all the reflexive gold hate out there, it's always refreshing to see a balanced article like this one. And coming from someone in the Ritholtz loop will get a lot of attention. It's a good day for gold education. :)

The portfolio described is very similar to a Golden Butterfly, also. No bond barbell, and no SCV, but darn close.

Dollar up or down, gold is down or flat like a pancake.
What a waste of time and energy.
