Democratic National Convention

Wikileaks has released 20,000 emails from the DNC. One of them talked about using Bernie's religion against him. Another of combining a Washington Post event with a DNC fundraiser even though it's illegal so that they wanted to do it quietly. There's another document showing a link between the DNC and Ted Cruz helping him to raise a ruckus at the Republican convention. There's probably much more to come here.

DNC chairperson Debbie Wasserman Schultz will not be speaking at her own convention as a result. She may be in hiding. It will be hot as hell in Philly too so this will actually feel like hell as much as it sounds and looks like hell. Tim Kaine will just go around speaking Spanish and soliciting more gifts. Hillary's lofty goal will be not to cough too loudly while giving her acceptance speech. Bill Clinton's going to find a new intern while Hill is on stage. I hear that there will be a visit from Michael Brown's family. A great symbolic attempt to pay homage to a black guy who tried to take a cop's gun after robbing a convenience store and got killed for it. And for those of you who hate Donald Trump's racism, there will be plenty of jihadists and illegal Mexicans there too! Enjoy!

Nice timing on the release!

I didn't know Sanders was Jewish, though. That's pretty low.

Source for the Wikileaks info?

(oh right...just checked the news. I missed yesterday's.) Fortunately, the "religion" they wanted to use against Bernie Sanders was atheism, not his Jewish background. Of course, the point was that the Democratic party was actively trying to discredit Sanders...no surprise but amazing to see it in print.

I assume the second paragraph was somewhere between tongue in cheek and sarcasm. I think we all expect the Democratic convention to be every bit as glitzy and worthless as the Republican one.

I'll be sleeping through it! I suggest everyone do the same.

Thanks.

I remember a time when the Republican party was the one that was tightly controlled with manipulation going on behind the scenes. Now the Democrats are doing that, while the Republicans are honestly allowing voters to have their say. The more "democratic" party, if you will.

Sadly, the tightly controlled/manipulated model is the one that works the best. There is something of a populist uprising going on, but I just don't think it's going to be enough to make a difference in the end. Sort of like the coop board elections in my previous building - they are cleverly rigged so that it's impossible to unseat any of the existing board members, even though a majority of owner-occupiers want them out.

Here’s How You Can Join the Lawsuit

If you donated to the DNC after Bernie Sanders entered the race, either directly or through a third-party platform like ActBlue, or if you donated to Bernie Sanders’ campaign during the primaries and caucuses, then you’re eligible to join, US Uncut reported.

Millions of people donated to Sanders’ campaign, resulting in more than $222 million in donations. If you want to join the lawsuit, it’s easy, according to the lawsuit’s Facebook page. Just email dncfraud@jampac.us to be a “class representative” (which simply means that you will be a plaintiff participating in the class action suit.) You’ll need to sign an attorney-client agreement and you won’t have to pay any fees to join. The attorneys may ask you later for proof of your specific donations, which you’ll be able to send by fax or email, but they don’t need that at this time.

If you don’t join, you may still be entitled to relief if the case is won. However, you may miss out on some incentive awards, according to the law firm’s website.

In a YouTube video about the lawsuit, Beck said there were six claims to the case. The first is fraud against the DNC and Wasserman Schultz, stating that they broke legally binding agreements by strategizing for Clinton. The second is negligent misrepresentation. The third is deceptive conduct by claiming they were remaining neutral when they were not. The fourth is is retribution for monetary donations to Sanders’ campaign. The fifth is that the DNC broke its fiduciary duties during the primaries by not holding a fair process. And the sixth is for negligence, claiming that the DNC did not protect donor information from hackers.
