Clive,
Can you do a graph like that showing world population growth and world oil production growth, both going back to 1900?
That's a good one.

You come up with some cool stuff, Clive.
I can't wait until we catch up to that 2009-2010ish debt spike. We'll all be rich!

World population has grown at only around 1.5% CAGR since the mid 1970's. Something like 4 billion in 1975 to near 7 billion more recently.
This one goes back a little farther, but it makes the point I was getting at:
The germ theory of medicine and the discovery of antibiotics gave us the means to rapidly increase the population, and increasing oil production gave us the ability to feed them all (the latter point is likely to spur some debate).
Pretty neat, huh.

PP is just about pacing the growth in the US National Debt
Any idea as to why?
