we sell our photographs  off our website since my wife and i are photographers .  not a lot , since we don't promote it but it does pay to maintain the website for us yearly  at the least .

My wife has done some language lessons, but we haven't monetized it.

Full-time executive-level income since 1998 or so.

There are a lot of skillsets that go into making money online; Namely: Copywriting, an understanding of e-commerce and marketing funnels.

This can take time to learn.

I highly recommend: Bmyers.com.

In a nutshell:

Find a niche that has disposable income. Visit discussion forums and blogs where they ask a lot of questions. Develop an info-product that helps get them closer to their dream.

LinkedIn.com was a networking gold mine for me. I found two jobs this year from LinkedIn contacts.

I ran an internet business for a few years and made decent money doing it. I'll second Coffee's recommendation: find a niche group of people with disposable income and sell them stuff that helps them with their niche interest. Be hyper-responsive to their culture and feelings.

Frugal,
I'm going to be the naysayer here.

Nothing you have ever posted makes me believe that you could make money on the internet, or as a day trader, or as an entrepreneur.

Please don't take this as an insult, but you should just work really hard to get a good day job.  You will go broke and never understand why if you go any other route.

Working a day job is a perfectly respectful way to make money.  Do that.  Live frugally.  Save.  Invest conservatively.

There are a lot of other paths - but you don't have the disposition for them.  Those paths will have you angry and old and broken in your later years.  I had a good friend that wanted to be an astronaut.  I had to tell him, "Rick, you're not astronaut material..."

Dear Pointedstick,

can you please explain with more detail so I can understand.

Thank you.

I think we already discussed this via private message a few years ago. I agree with Mark. Find a good job and do it well.  :) Desculpe!

Third.

You have the best chance of making money in a career that you've devoted most of your life to building.  That way, you're one of the experts.  If you try to jump into the make-money-on-the-internet club, you're just one in a sea of people all trying to do the same thing, but you are starting from scratch.

Hard work and persistence, friend.  It's good for the soul.  Also if you keep your eyes open, you'll find opportunities for side income.

Hello WiseOne,

what do you mean with side income and how to get it.

She means have a good paying job but do carpet cleaning after work like MT did. ;D

I agree with Mark, though.  I don't think your disposition is up to the task of being an entrepreneur, unless it's just the language barrier in your posts.  I already am angry, old and broken in my later years, so what's that tell you?  Besides scaring people, that is.
