Evidently, the JV team from the religion of peace is threatening to attack our homeland military bases necessitating an elevation of the homeland threat level. This isnt happening in Yemen or Iraq but in our own country. So are we winning this war or are we on our way to defeat?

I would propose a very simple solution to the threat to attack our domestic military bases, Reub.
They could actually arm the soldiers who are being threatened and let them defend themselves.
I speak as one with military service predicting this will not be done.
The constitution may guarantee the right to keep and bear arms but when you join the military you give up these rights and you only get the guns when they say you can have them.
In Vietnam, they were afraid the enlisted men would shoot the officers which was a very real fear but I don't know what they are saying now. Like in the Ft Hood shooting I'm sure they have their reasons.

Of course it won't be done. Military commanders are a bunch of frickin morons.

If you think military bases stateside are safe from terrorists, think again. Before I retired I sent ans essay around to base personnel (from a friends home computer) about base security. Below is a small part of the essay. It's all true.
In the good old days, prior to 9/11, all it took to gain entrance to any military base was a sticker on your car and a friendly smile. Now, everyone entering base has to show their military ID card, ie. the CAC card. There are numerous other defensive measures taken to protect wing assets. For example, bases have installed numerous bollard obstructions as part of their barrier plan to impede the potential terrorist. A bollard is basically a retractable steel pole installed in the road which denies entry to any vehicle attempting to drive past it. Where to place the bollards is a topic of much discussion in wing antiterrorism meetings. At XXXXXX AFB, they placed some bollards on the driveway to the Wing HQ and fire department. According to the fire chief, this will prevent terrorists from driving on the road to the entrance of the buildings with a car bomb. However, the both buildings are surrounded by open grassy areas easily accessible by simply driving around the bollards. Only ethical terrorists with qualms about violating motor vehicle laws will be stymied by the bollards.

So then we (they) have nothing to worry about, right?
