I've been trying to tell my wife this for years..... 

Since many of the more prestigious roles in society are associated with high IQ

I thought being a member of Congress would be prestigious, but this would contradict that...

I still say B.S. that the curve is gradually decreasing from 100 to 40 in IQ.  So half the population is plumb dumb stupid?  I don't buy it, otherwise there would be a lot more preventable accidents.  And half the population would never have graduated from high school?  Half the population is a mix of lower class hispanic and black culture?  The stats will not bear this out.

EDIT: Maybe it includes children as opposed to adults.  That I will buy, but it is a misleading comparison.

Why is IQ the be all/end all?  Women are better at some things than men e.g. women are I guess hard wired to multitask* which men don't do as well.  Most women also have interpersonal skills better than most men.  The sexes are each better than the other (typically) at certain things.

*helpful for the survival of the species if you realize that it is helpful for women to be able to keep track of the kids and  do other stuff at the same time (since historically they raised the kids).
