Soros's concept of "reflexivity" is interesting, though I think it is a simpler concept than he imagines.  I think he is really just talking about watching the way people react to events, rather than watching the events themselves.

When you have been as successful as he has been, it's hard to resist the temptation to create a sort of "genius narrative" that makes all of your success seem inevitable in retrospect.

A great example of this genius narrative is also found in many dictators and charismatic leaders of cults. 

To me, two prerequisites for greatness are humility and skepticism.  Soros has plenty of the latter, but I think it's often hard for a Master-of-the-Universe-type personality to take the concept of humility seriously.
